A laser welded blade is a Diamond Blade that is manufactured through the method of Laser Beam Welding (LBW). This is where two or more materials are welded together by using laser technology. Laser means Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation and it is used when normal welding is difficult to perform.
When manufacturing a Diamond Blade, laser welding is used to weld together the segments and the core of the Diamond blade. A laser welded Diamond Blade will usually have a longer life span and stronger cut than a standard Diamond Blade as the bond between the segment and core is significantly stronger, which ultimately results in a higher quality blade.
If you’re tied between purchasing a laser welded blade, or a standard welded blade; you should opt for the laser welded blade simply because it is more efficient. Laser welded blades typically have a 35% longer life span and this is a result of the stronger weld created by the laser welding process. You just have to consider if the price difference is worth the extra efficiency and longer life span.
General purpose:
For cutting tiles, bricks, concrete blocks, slates, stones or other building materials.
Concrete:
For cutting concrete, reinforced concrete, cured concrete and other hard and non-abrasive materials.
Asphalt & abrasive materials:
For heavy duty cutting very abrasive materials such as asphalt, green concrete, asphalt over concrete, etc. Protective segments are added to prevent undercutting.
Stones:For marble, granite, limestone, sandstone, etc.
